What are the necessary inspections before the excavator starts in spring

Spring is here and everything is revived. The excavator has also ushered in a busy season. In the cold winter, after a long period of parking, some materials of the excavator may have changed. If the machine is put into use without a detailed inspection, there may be some damage to the excavator. In order to reduce equipment failure, the excavator should be inspected and maintained in detail before starting work. The inspection is mainly divided into two parts: pre-start inspection and operation inspection.

Check Before Start

1. The condition of the instrument;

2. The tightness of each tightening factor bolt;

3. Whether the engine support pads are in good condition;

4. Inspection of the tensioner;

5. Whether the rotating ring gear butter is enough, add it if necessary;

6. Oil level and oil quality, add or replace if necessary;

7. Hydraulic oil level, hose and oil quality inspection;

8. Fuel tank inspection and washing if necessary;

9. Whether the hoses of the fuel pipeline system have aging cracks and oil leakage, whether the joints can be firmly connected, and need to be replaced in time if necessary;

10. Make fan belts, air conditioning belt tension and whether there is aging, and replace them in time if necessary;

11. Whether the bearing butter of the rotating mechanism is enough, add it if necessary;

Run Check

1. Run the engine at idle speed for 5-10 minutes, run each cylinder at no-load, make the hydraulic oil temperature reach 40°C, and cycle each hydraulic function several times;

2. When the ambient temperature is lower than 3℃, turn on a preheat switch before starting the machine to preheat the intake air;

3. If the machine is parked for a long time, the thin oil layer on the sliding surface may be damaged. It is necessary to activate the hydraulic control function of the circulatory system for walking, rotary excavation 2 to 3 times to lubricate the sliding surfaces;

4. For models with turbocharger, remove the oil inlet pipe of the turbocharger, and increase the amount of oil to ensure the lubrication of the turboshaft.

5. When there is too much soil on the frame structure of the excavator, turn the upper frame to a 90-degree position before walking the system, support the crawler, and idly rotate a few times back and forth to get rid of the supporting sprockets, rollers, and guides.
